Former Inter defender Daniele Adani feels that the current Nerazzurri side have shown the resilience to come back with any chance they get in games.

Speaking on Christian Vieri’s Twitch channel, as reported by FCInterNews, Adani emphasized the ability of the Nerazzurri to get themselves back into games after their comeback to draw against Napoli in Serie A on Saturday.

Inter have not always started matches well, and have had to come back from early deficits on a number of occasions.

The Nerazzurri have not always managed to win or even draw from these positions, but more often than not they have been able to haul themselves back into matches, and they showed this once again against the Partenopei.

Adani emphasized this, stating that “If you don’t kill off this Inter, you’ll find them right back in it, they get back and sting you because they’ve been used to being at the top for the past two years.”

“In fact, right away, they found a quick combination between the two forwards and equalized right away,” he said of the Nerazzurri’s nearly instant equalizer after the restart in their match against Napoli.

“Then after the goal the complexion of the match changed so much that Napoli finished with a 3-5-2 system,” he added. “Looking at the chances created as well as Handanovic’s saves, the Nerazzurri could have won but the draw is fair.”

On defender Stefan de Vrij, he said that “He has a different physique from Skriniar, big but explosive, and Bastoni, long and slender, if he isn’t in form then he looks turgid.”

“The Dutchman’s strength is his reading of the game,” he added, “and he struggled against Osimhen.”

“He hasn’t returned at his best from injuries,” Adani added of de Vrij, “you saw it in the derby, against Napoli, against Lazio.”

And of the current goal drought by striker Lautaro Martinez, he gave the view that “I don’t see him being in a decline, we don’t know if he’ll ever score thirty goals in a season at this point, but he does a lot of other things on the pitch apart from scoring goals.”
