Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte has said that Inter will win the Serie A title again this season under Simone Inzaghi, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.
Speaking during an interview with Sky Sport, FCInternews, the former Nerazzurri boss admitted that he thinks his old team will be the one’s to lift the Scudetto again this season as they did under his management last season.
“Yes, Inter will win the Serie A title.”
Antonio Conte left Inter in the summer when the financial situation at the club became more apparent. He is now in charge of Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur who have had a very mixed time under him so far.
When asked if there are any parallels to draw between this Tottenham Hotspur team and his first Inter team, he said: “It’s always hard to compare situations. However, when you work in a club that has not won anything for a long time, naturally confidence is low.
“I got an insight into areas that could be developed but then once you see the situation first hand, it wasn’t easy when four players left in January.”
Antonio Conte also revealed that he can see Tottenham Hotspur’s vision is to target young players rather than ones that are immediately ready, as he has done in the past at Inter.
“That’s the club’s vision, their philosophy. Naturally, if you want to fast-track your development and become competitive in a shorter time frame you also need very experienced players. I’ve seen that this is the club’s vision, targeting younger players.”
