Inter defender Stefan de Vrij could be rested in the Nerazzurri’s Serie A clash with Sassuolo tomorrow.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that Danilo D’Ambrosio could come in for the Dutchman and Milan Skriniar could move to the central position.
At least one change will necessarily be made to the Nerazzurri’s regular backline, with Federico Dimarco the likely candidate to come in for Alessandro Bastoni on the left due to the latter’s suspension.
However, de Vrij could also drop out of the starting eleven after his exertions against Liverpool in the Champions League on Wednesday, which saw the 29-year-old pick up a head injury.
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi could decide to start with D’Ambrosio on the right and Dimarco on the left flanking Skriniar should he decide that de Vrij needs a rest following the Liverpool match in addition to Bastoni being suspended.
