Inter look to have the edge in the race for the signature of Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi due to the excellent relationship between CEO Beppe Marotta and his Neroverdi counterpart Giovanni Carnevali.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the two CEO’s are in regular contact and that this friendship could make it easier for the Nerazzurri to get a deal done for the midfielder.

Frattesi looks to be the Nerazzurri’s major midfield target for the summer as they look to refresh their midfield with a younger profile as Arturo Vidal and Matias Vecino almost certainly depart.

The 22-year-old has been in good form since returning to Sassuolo from loan at the start of the season, and he once again showed his quality with a solid display in midfield as the Neroverdi beat Inter yesterday evening.

Perhaps now more than ever, the Nerazzurri will be convinced that getting a deal over the line for Frattesi is the right move, and they could rely on the relationship between Marotta and Carnevali to ensure that it does.
