Inter are continuing to negotiate with the entourage of wing-back Ivan Perisic and hope to reach an agreement for a contract extension.

As reported by L’Interista.it, the Croatia international could extend his stay beyond the expiry of his current deal this summer, with Inter considering relenting and meeting his €5 million per year, plus bonuses, demands.

The coming weeks are thought to be crucial in determining whether an agreement can be found and it thought that the Nerazzurri are ready to commit to a €5m salary in order to retain the former Bayern Munich loanee.

However, a major block in the negotiations surrounds the length of any new contract and this is holding up progress in reaching an agreement.

Perisic is demanding a two-year extension in order to commit his future to the club, whilst Inter CEO Beppe Marotta is unwilling to offer anything more than an additional season, with an option for a follow-up year.
