Inter To Part Ways With Arturo Vidal At The End Of The Season, Italian Media Report

Inter are all but certain to part ways with midfielder Arturo Vidal at the end of the season, though the terms of his departure are not clear.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the club could unilaterally terminate the 34-year-old’s contract, or a termination could be agreed by mutual consent.

Vidal recently remarked to Chilean media that he would welcome the possibility of joining Brazilian giants Flamengo, possibly as early as this summer, and this seemed to further confirm the sense that his future is away from the Nerazzurri.

The club will owe the midfielder gross wages of €9.5 million on the final season of his contract, which they could instead choose to terminate for a severance payment of €4 million gross.

The player and his agent could ask to leave, however, and through diplomacy the parties could agree a termination of his deal.

Vidal has interest from the MLS, the Turkish league, and from clubs in Arab countries according to Tuttosport, although he is lukewarm on the prospect of joining any of these leagues and more interested in a team like Flamengo.
