Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic was able to sprint in training yesterday but he still seems unlikely to start the match against Fiorentina, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Roman newspaper Corriere dello Sport, the Croatian midfielder was on the grass at Appiano Gentile yesterday but his condition is still very much in the balance.

He suffered a calf injury during the Champions League match against Liverpool at Anfield last week and that forced him to miss the Torino match last weekend.

Simone Inzaghi is desperate to have his key man back in the midfield but at the moment it looks very likely that he will be on the bench or not involved at all.

Arturo Vidal or Hakan Calhanoglu are the two candidates to play in the centre of the midfield. Danilo D’Ambrosio is expected to replace the injured Stefan de Vrij.
