Inter could move to sign Napoli goalkeeper David Ospina this summer to replace Samir Handanovic in the event that the Slovenian does not extend his contract.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri would be among the Colombian’s suitors, but only if they lose their current club captain.

Ospina is set to depart from Napoli during the summer transfer window, with his current deal set to expire at the end of June and the club not willing to meet his wage demands for an extension.

Real Madrid have already emerged as a possible destination for Ospina, but Inter could join the list as well given that he will be available on a free transfer.

It remains to be seen what Handanovic’s situation will be, as the Slovenian’s current contract runs out at the end of the season, but he and the club are still in talks about a possible extension.
