Inter could face an uphill battle in their pursuit of Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi during the summer transfer window.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the competition for the 22-year-old’s signature from Juventus and the financial difficulties involved in the move could mean that the Nerazzurri miss out.

Frattesi is one of Inter’s main targets for the summer, with the Neroverdi man identified as having the ideal profile to bolster their midfield going into next season.

The club have been aiming to get a double deal done for Frattesi as well as striker Gianluca Scamacca, another key target for next season.

However, the financial objectives are clear for the club who aim to be self-sufficient, in other words financing all transfer business with sales.

This means that signing a player of Frattesi’s calibre and rising value will always be tricky, whilst the Bianconeri are also stepping up their pursuit with coach Max Allegri an admirer.
