Inter will extend the contract of head coach Simone Inzaghi at the end of the season.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, who report that the club are completely happy with the coach’s performance in the role and want to continue on together.

Inter chose Inzaghi to take over from Antonio Conte last summer after the former coach’s departure, and the 46-year-old has exceeded expectations for the season.

A worrying slump in form since the beginning of February had raised some doubts about the former Lazio coach, but he will hope that Sunday’s victory over Juventus can mark a complete turning point.

Now, the club are starting to strategize for next season, and one or two major sales are looking to be likelier and likelier in the summer, as was the case in the last summer transfer window.

However, with Inzaghi at the helm they feel that the team can continue to grow with younger players as it has already done this time around.

There is no rush by anyone involved to seal the extension, but there is little doubt that at the end of May the Nerazzurri will renew with their coach.
