Legendary former Inter goalkeeper Walter Zenga feels that the Nerazzurri were not at their best in their 2-0 win over Hellas Verona earlier this evening, but that they produced a composed display.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, Zenga suggested that the Nerazzurri did enough to get the job done but did not play with the same flair that they had a few months ago.

The Nerazzurri dominated the first half to go 2-0 up against the Gialloblu going into halftime, and in the second half they managed to see the game out despite showing less attacking intent.

This was not quite the same Inter team that produced several emphatic displays to win by big scorelines during their eight-match winning run in November and December.

However, it didn’t have to be, and the Nerazzurri took the three points that they needed to keep up their Scudetto pursuit without looking like they were taking many risks.

Zenga stated that “This was not the brilliant Inter od December that we became used to, but they still played some excellent stuff.”

“The team that played safely,” he went on, “Handanovic made a good save on Simeone and now everything will be decided next week.”
