Inter have the chance to record a 100% record against the newly-promoted sides in Serie A by beating Empoli on Friday at San Siro, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by FCInternews, Inter will have won all six of their gams against the teams who were promoted from Serie B last season if they take all three points against Aurelio Andreazzoli’s side in Friday’s early kick-off.

It is an achievement that has not been easy for Inter historically as they have not managed it since the 2002/03 season.

Inter beat Empoli 2-0 with goals from Federico Dimarco and Danilo D’Ambrosio when the teams met in Tuscany earlier in the season. The Nerazzurri also knocked Friday’s opponents out of the Coppa Italia with a victory in extra-time.

A win for Inter will put them back on top of the Serie A table at least until AC Milan play against Hellas Verona on Sunday night.
