Italian Journalist Fabrizio Biasin: “Antonio Conte Wouldn’t Have Left Inter If He Thought He Could Win Serie A Again”

Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin believes that Antonio Conte would not necessarily have won the Serie A title with Inter this season if he had remained as head coach.

Writing in a tweet, Biasin gave the view that Conte himself likely had doubts that a second consecutive Scudetto was attainable and this was the reason he left at the start of last summer.

Should the Nerazzurri miss out on the title to city rivals AC Milan this season, questions will be asked about whether Simone Inzaghi is the right man to be at the helm of a project capable of winning the Scudetto.

The former Lazio boss replaced Conte in the summer, taking over from a coach who had guided the team to their first Serie A title in eleven years and in some ways putting all the pressure on any successor.

However, the reason for Conte’s departure had to do with the sales made in the summer, which the former coach who is known to be demanding as far as having the resources to win, essentially passed on to his successor.

This is Biasin’s view, with the journalist writing, “‘With Conte on the bench we’d have already won the Scudetto,’ some say. Maybe, but the fact is that he would be the first to disagree with this, otherwise he’d have stayed.”
