Denzel Dumfries looks to be the favourite to start for Inter in this evening’s Coppa Italia final against Juventus.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Dutchman is ahead of Matteo Darmian on the right of the Nerazzurri’s starting eleven for the clash.
The question of Dumfries or Darmian at right wingback appears to be coach Simone Inzaghi’s major doubt for the starting eleven to face the Bianconeri, with both of the pair having started some matches for the Nerazzurri recently.
However, it is the Dutchman who has established himself as the more regular starter in the team throughout the season, and the coach is leaning towards putting his trust in him in this evening’s final.
Meanwhile, in defense Alessandro Bastoni is ready to grit his teeth and play from the start in spite of the lingering effects of a calf problem that he is still feeling.
