Inter have scheduled a meeting with Ivan Perisic and his agents for the day after the match against Cagliari in Sardinia on Sunday night, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Ivan Perisic’s angry outburst after the Coppa Italia final against Juventus has accelerated his contract situation somewhat and now meetings will be held to thrash out a deal in the very near future.

The club have so far not offered the Croatian anything more than €4.5 million per season for a two-year deal but he and his agents feel he is worthy of a €6 million a year salary, despite being 33-years old.

The fact that Ivan Perisic has arguably been Inter’s best and most consistent performer this season has strengthened his hand in negotiations.

His current deal will expire at the end of this season so he is able to talk to other clubs if he wishes.
