Inter were not warned about Hakan Calhanoglu’s interview that has caused controversy and he could be fined by the club as a result, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter are not happy about the bad press that has been generated by Hakan Calhanoglu’s interview with Turkish digital TV station Tivibu Spor.

Within the interview, the Turkish midfielder suggested that Simone Inzaghi contributed to the defeat against AC Milan in Serie A which ultimately proved to be the turning point in the Scudetto race.

He has since denied criticising the Inter coach and believes that his comments were taken out of context. He has since praised the work that Simone Inzaghi has done with the Nerazzurri.

The player did not tell Inter that he would be giving the interview and he could therefore receive a fine from the club.
