Inter goalkeeper William Rovida is very close to leaving the club on a loan deal and heading to Carrarese for a season, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by transfer journalist Gianluca Di Marzio on his website, the 19-year-old shot-stopper looks set for a season in Serie C with Carrarese where he will be able to get first-team football in a professional and competitive environment.

He was named the best goalkeeper in the Primavera last season as he helped Christian Chivu’s side win the title, beating AS Roma in the final.

There have been a number of young players from that team heading out on loan moves as it is the natural next step in their footballing development.

He played 29 times in the Primavera last season and managed to keep a clean sheet an incredibly impressive 15 times. Inter will be keen to see how he develops at Carrarese.
