Inter CEO Beppe Marotta has not yet given up on the Nerazzurri’s pursuit of Paulo Dybala, although he will not push either of Edin Dzeko or Joaquin Correa out of the club in order to get a deal done.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the CEO still sees Dybala as an excellent opportunity to strengthen in attack.
Even with Alexis Sanchez set to depart this summer, it is far from clear that there will be room in Inter’s attack to sign Dybala given that Romelu Lukaku has arrived on loan from Chelsea, meaning that there will be four senior forwards in the squad even with the Chilean gone.
Dzeko and Correa would be the two main candidates to make way for the 28-year-old, but neither are keen to leave the Nerazzurri and Marotta will not offload either of them against their wishes.
Nevertheless, the CEO’s thinking is that given that Dzeko will turn 37 next season, Lukaku is only at Inter on loan from Chelsea, and there continues to be major transfer interest in Lautaro Martinez, having Dybala in the squad would ensure quality remains in attack no matter who leaves.
