Italian journalist Mario Sconcerti believes that part of the reason that Paulo Dybala hasn’t been snapped up in the transfer market yet is that other teams know he already has an agreement in hand with Inter.
Writing in his column in yesterday’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, Sconcerti tried to answer the question of why the Argentine remains without a club, and gave the view that apart from stylistic reasons, a likely explanation can be found in his having long been linked to the Nerazzurri.
Dybala has not yet joined Inter, but this does not mean that significant steps haven’t been taken to sign him, with an agreement having looked imminent last month.
The player still has the agreement in hand and so do the club, although at least at the moment Inter are not in a position to move for him, but other teams could well be skeptical about a move for a player they feel is already halfway in the door at the Nerazzurri.
“In the 4-3-3 system that most teams have he doesn’t have a real role,” Sconcerti writes. “Support must be created around him, but this must be done by the entire team’s structure.”
“Besides the doubts about his fitness, the stylistic ones must also be added,” he notes. “This has held back the enthusiasm of many.”
“However, there is a second answer that is perhaps the most logical,” Sconcerti goes on, “Dybala already has an agreement with Inter, all the teams on the market knows it and they’ve given up on him.”
