Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is set to give his first-choice midfield trio of Marcelo Brozovic, Nicolo Barella, and Hakan Calhanoglu a run-out in today’s friendly match against Lens.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who also report that first-choice attacking duo of Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez are set to start the match.
So far in the Nerazzurri’s two preseason friendly, Inzaghi has mostly given opportunities to new signings like Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Kristjan Asllani in midfield, bedding the new players in whilst the first-choice players have gotten up to speed following later returns to training.
However, with this evening’s match against Lens the coach is ready to start getting his main team ready by utilizing the trio of midfielders which was first-choice throughout last season.
The Gazzetta’s complete predicted starting eleven for the match is as follows:
Inter(3-5-2): Handanovic; D’Ambrosio, De Vrij, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Brozovic, Calhanoglu, Darmian; Lukaku, Lautaro.
