Inter are aiming to extend the contract of defender Stefan de Vrij, and will hold talks with him after the summer transfer window closes.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri will look to agree a new deal with the 30-year-old on a two- or three-year contract extension.
De Vrij’s current deal runs until the end of June 2023, and so should he stay at the club he will be heading into the final season of his contract, which sees him earn €4.2 million net per season.
The club will not hold contract talks with the Dutchman for the transfer window slams shut, but aim to hold the discussions once the transfer window is closed so as to keep the pressure off.
Now that de Vrij looks likely to stay at Inter for at least one more season, the club will let him decide on his future and will aim to extend his deal.
