Inter striker Romelu Lukaku is doing all that he can to be in peak physical condition when the first game against Lecce comes around, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today, the Belgian striker is aware that it would really help his relationship with the Curva Nord if he hit the ground running against Lecce in the first game of the season on August 13.

It is no secret that he will be starting the game but he does not want to slowly grow into the campaign, he wants to immediately be at his best. That is why he is undertaking extra training centred around injury prevention.

This is something that Ivan Perisic and Edin Dzeko have done and the results were evident. There is expected to be a change of pace in the next two games against Lyon and Villareal compared to the other friendlies that Inter have played.
