Inter could need to pay Alexis Sanchez €7 million in severance pay which is one of two barriers between him and a move to Marseille, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by Calciomercato.com, there are two main issues that need to be resolved if Alexis Sanchez is going to be a Marseille player next season.

Firstly, Inter will need to pay him some severance pay to break the contract and ensure that he does not lose out on money when he signs a deal with Marseille.

Inter have already offered €4 million but that has been rejected. The Chilean could actually want €7 million as there is money related to the postponed salary during the Covid-19 pandemic.

This means there is a new avenue of negotiations to conclude. As well as that, Marseille need to offload one or two attackers as they have too many players in that part of the pitch.
