Inter are confident that a severance payment worth €5 million will be sufficient to convinced Alexis Sanchez to agree to a termination of his contract by mutual consent.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri are growing increasingly confident that the end is in sight for the 33-year-old’s time at the club, as transfer links to Marseille grow stronger.

Inter have been looking to seal Sanchez’s exit for much of the summer transfer window, and the player has been lukewarm on accepting a severance arrangement as long as he has not decided upon his next club.

A few teams have come forward for the Chilean but either haven’t made serious offers or have been rejected out of hand by the player who is still looking for the right sporting project.

Marseille can offer Sanchez Champions League football next season and are serious about trying to sign him, and the 33-year-old is getting closer to accepting their offer.

The Nerazzurri are ready to end Sanchez’s time at the club with a severance payment, and €5 million could be the magic number.
