The termination of Alexis Sanchez’s contract is set to save Inter a total of €8.5 million in total gross wages, and this should be more than the cost of the severance payment to the player.

This according to Italian football finance news outlet Calcio E Finanzia, who report that the Nerazzurri will have a total savings due to the player’s wages being off their books provided the gross cost of the severance payment is under €8.5 million.

Inter have agreed a termination of Sanchez’s contract by mutual consent, and in so doing they will be able to get his wages off their books, which total €8.5 million, around €8.4 million in wage costs and then another €160,000 million in amortization.

Should the value of the severance payment to the player be less than €6.5 million net, which would come to €8.5 million gross in total, then there will be a net financial benefit to offloading the Chilean for the Nerazzurri.
