Significant distance still remains between Inter and Chelsea regarding the Blues’ interest in wingback Denzel Dumfries.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Nerazzurri are still holding out for €45 million for the 26-year-old while Chelsea have only offered €25 million.
Chelsea have ramped up their interest in Dumfries in recent days, making a formal offer but seeing their initial bid rebuffed by the Nerazzurri.
The expectation is that the Premier League side will return with an improved bid for the Dutchman soon, but at the moment there would still be a sizable gap to make up if they are to convince the Nerazzurri on a deal.
Inter are not keen to let Dumfries go this close to the season, and so they would want to hold out for a high asking price, which looks to be around €45 million, and it will remain to be seen how close Chelsea get to this.
