Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi has given his players the day off to rest today, and then the squad will reconvene for training tomorrow.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri coach has decided to let the players have a day to relax and get back their energy, with tomorrow to be the start of preparations for Saturday’s Serie A clash with Spezia.

Inter had their first Serie A match of the season over the weekend against Lecce, and it was a physical match which sapped the players of a lot of their energy.

Inzaghi doesn’t want to put too much stress on the players physically this early in the season, but at the same time is mindful of the need to get as much work in as they can, with the coach already targeting improvements in their performance against Spezia.

Meanwhile, defender Danilo D’Ambrosio was back in training yesterday after having missed out on the team’s opener against Lecce.
