Inter are ready to move for Borussia Dortmund defender Cesare Casadei, and are only waiting for the final approval of President Steven Zhang to try and complete a deal for him.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reports on his homepage that the Nerazzurri are prepared to sign the 26-year-old now that they have agreed a deal with Chelsea to sell midfielder Cesare Casadei.

Akanji is Inter’s priority target to strengthen their defensive depth after the departure of Andrea Ranocchia to join Monza earlier in the summer, and given that the Swiss international’s contract with Dortmund runs out at the end of June 2023, he could be within reach.

Inter have agreed a fee of €15 million plus €5 million in add-ons with Chelsea for Casadei, which opens the door for them to move for Akani, although the green light from Zhang will be needed.

Provided the President gives the go-ahead, however, the Nerazzurri could move for Akanji very shortly.
