Ex-Nerazzurri Forward Antonio Cassano: “Inter Will Be In The Hunt In May When Trophies Handed Out”

Legendary former Inter, Roma, Real Madrid, and Sampdoria forward Antonio Cassano feels that the Nerazzurri are strong enough that they will be able to fight for the top trophies throughout the season.

Speaking on his Instagram story, as reported by FCInterNews, Cassano gave the view that the Nerazzurri have already shown the necessary quality that when the end of the season comes around, they should be fighting on all front with a real chance of silverware.

Inter won the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana last season, but missed out on the Scudetto by two points on the final day of the season, whilst they were eliminated from the Champions League by eventual finalists Liverpool at the round of sixteen stage.

This time around, the Nerazzurri will be hoping to build on last season’s accomplishments and not come away empty-handed, with regaining the Scudetto and making further inroads in the Champions League among their targets.

Cassano gave his analysis of the team, stating that “I’ve liked what I’ve seen from Inter, although they had very little trouble against Spezia who seemed intimidated by the San Siro.”

He continued that “Lautaro Martinez continues to do very well. Inter know how they want to play, the patterns of play and the movement.”

“They’re strong and a candidate for the Scudetto along with Milan and Juventus, and it doesn’t hurt that they have squad players like Joaquin Correa and Edin Dzeko who not everyone can afford.”

He concluded that “I think that when we get to May we’ll see them in the hunt for all the trophies.”
