Former Roma, Fiorentina, and Udinese midfielder Gaetano D’Agostino believes that there will be no one team who run away with the title this season in Serie A.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster 1 Station Radio, D’Agostino gave his thoughts on the Scudetto chase, and suggested that several teams are strong enough to fight for it without any one side being head and shoulders above the rest.

Inter will undeniably be among the favourites for the Serie A title this season considering their close second-placed finish last time around and the addition of Romelu Lukaku, whilst AC Milan are also widely considered to be in the hunt as defending champions.

The transfer window that Juventus have had has also put them in many pundits’ list despite a mixed start to the season, and Napoli and Roma have also started off the season in convincing fashion.

“Based on their incredible start, the speed at which the new additions have grown and fit in, and the freshness of their ideas, I’d say that Napoli will certainly be in it,” D’Agostino predicted of the title race.

“The team is more mature than last season, and I was one of the skeptical ones,” he continued of the Partenopei.

“Then there are Rome who are a solid team,” he continued, also naming “Milan because they’re the reigning champions. Finally, I’d also add Inter in it. But I don’t see one team steamrolling the others, they’re all in it.”gho
