A personal friendship with Nerazzurri striker Romelu Lukaku could be a key factor in convincing Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah to decide on joining Inter.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who note that the pair have known each other for eleven years and particularly bonded during their season together at Chelsea last campaign, which could be a factor in the 23-year-old choosing the Nerazzurri.

Inter don’t just have to convince Chalobah and would also have to persuade his club to sanction a loan deal, but the player’s will could also play a key role.

Apart from considerations on the pitch, the Englishman could also be thinking about the opportunity to spend the season with Lukaku, who he has known for over a decade and has a very positive personal relationship with.

Lukaku had become friends with Chalobah’s older brother Nathaniel, who now plays as a midfielder for Premier League side Fulham and is a Chelsea academy product like Trevoh, after meeting when he joined the Blues from Anderlecht in the summer of 2011.

The pair have remained friends, whilst Lukaku has also grown closer to Nathaniel’s young brother Trevoh particularly during last season spent playing in the Blues’ first team together, and the Inter striker could well convince the Chelsea defender to join on loan this season.
