Parallels have been drawn between Inter’s 2022/23 UEFA Champions League group and the tournament where they last won the trophy in 2010, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter will have to channel the energy from the 2010 Champions League triumph under Jose Mourinho where the Nerazzurri beat Barcelona in the semi-final and then Bayern Munich 2-0 in the final with goals from Diego Milito.

This is because they have been put in Group C along with Bayern Munich, the German champions, and Spanish giants Barcelona. Viktoria Plzen are also in the group.

Inter will have their work cut out to finish at least second in that group to progress to the next stage. They may need to target victories over Barcelona rather than ploughing resources into the matches against Bayern Munich.

Juventus will be facing PSG whilst AC Milan take on Chelsea. Napoli have Liverpool.
