The loan fee that Chelsea have asked for is what could put an end to Inter’s pursuit of English centre-bach Trevoh Chalobah, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the fact that Inter have no money at all in the bank to try and get a new defender means that many targets are proving impossible to acquire.

Trevoh Chalobah may have to be added to that list because if Inter are to get the player on a dry loan like they are asking for, they will need to pay the Premier League side a loan fee of €3 million.

Chelsea would then be able to evaluate the players’ condition and growth at the end of the loan move and decide what to do with him.

The door could now be opened for AC Milan to sign Trevoh Chalobah on loan instead of Inter.
