Defender Alessandro Bastoni was not at his best in yesterday evening’s 3-1 Serie A loss to Lazio in the view of Italian media.

The 23-year-old received very mediocre ratings across the board in the player ratings for the match in Italian media, as highlighted by L’Interista, which note that he was quiet going forward and far from faultless defensively.

The battle between Bastoni and Lazio’s Felipe Anderson on Inter’s left side always looked like it could be key to how the early stages of yesterday’s match went, and whilst the Nerazzurri player was coping well enough, he gave Federico Dimarco little help as the pair lost the Brazilian for the Biancocelesti’s opener late in the half.

Meanwhile, the 23-year-old was not able to get forward and show his technical quality as the spare man in possession as has become customary under Simone Inzaghi, with Maurizio Sarri’s team largely keeping him pinned back.

All of the Gazzetta dello Sport, the Corriere dello Sport, Tuttosport, TuttoMercatoWeb, and L’Interista felt that the 23-year-old’s performance was worthy of no more than a 5/10 score.
