Italian journalist Ivan Zazzaroni believes that Inter will get a deal wrapped up for Lazio defender Francesco Acerbi on loan in the end, but that the unnecessary drama around his signing is unsustainable.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, Zazzaroni gave his thoughts on the transfer saga in which Inter owners Suning seem to have decided against a move for Acerbi that had looked all but done, suggesting that the club cannot keep dealing with this uncertainty.

All of Inter’s transfer business this summer has been affected by their well-known financial difficulties and ambitious financial goals set by the owners, and this shadow is even cast over a bargain loan signing to add depth to the squad like that of Acerbi.

Zazzaroni feels that in the end the 34-year-old will arrive as has been anticipated, but that this kind of situation cannot go on forever without starting to drag the team down.

“I think we’ll see that they will get it done,” he said of the Nerazzurri’s pursuit of Acerbi. “But then, how much longer can they keep working with owners like this?”
