Inter President Steven Zhang could finally be convinced to give the go-ahead on a deal for Francesco Acerbi on loan from Lazio if the Nerazzurri can complete a deal worth €30 million with Bayer Leverkusen for Robin Gosens.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri President would be more inclined towards allowing the investment in Acerbi’s wages if a deal for Gosens brought the €60 million net profit goal for the summer within sight.
Inter have not yet reached their reported goal of a €60 million net profit for the summer transfer window, as they have not made the expected big name sale.
A deal with Leverkusen for Gosens could move the needle, however, as the Nerazzurri could be willing to accept an offer worth a total of €30 million including loan fee and purchase obligation.
Combined with the fees received for the likes of Cesare Casadei and Andrea Pinamonti, this would give the club more financial wiggle room, and so Zhang’s stance on the Acerbi deal could quickly change.
