Midfielder Nicolo Barella has been named as the standout player on the pitch in Inter’s 3-1 Serie A win over Cremonese yesterday evening.

The 25-year-old received a score of 7.5/10 for his display in the player ratings for the match published in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, the highest of any player.

Barella capped off his first-half display with a brilliantly-taken volley from the corner of the box to make it 2-0 for the Nerazzurri, but in truth this was only the cherry on top of his performance.

The 25-year-old showed all of his quality particularly in the final third, and was also instrumental in the Joaquin Correa’s opener for the team, and he didn’t let up much in the second half where he assisted Lautaro Martinez’s third goal to send Inter home and dry.

Meanwhile, the Gazzetta gave some criticism to Marcelo Brozovic for his performance in the match, awarding him just a 5.5/10, suggesting that he is still not at his best with some technical imprecision and legginess.
