Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has said that the Nerazzurri need to show character and heart when they face AC Milan today, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.
Speaking ahead of the game to Inter TV, via FCInternews, the Argentine forward talked about how his side need to approach the Derby della Madonnina if they are to get what they want out of the match at San Siro.
“I’m ready, I, my teammates and the staff are ready. We have to have a great game today. These are beautiful matches to play, there is a lot of emotion, we must play with great character and heart.”
He was also asked about how important a match this one is for the fans given the chance to gain local bragging rights and he showed that he understands how much is at stake when they take to the field.
“There is a lot at stake on and off the pitch, we must do our job, do what we have prepared to do, and win.”
Lautaro Martinez will be without his usual striker partner as Romelu Lukaku has suffered a thigh injury. He has got fellow Argentine Joaquin Correa alongside him as he has been preferred by Simone Inzaghi to Edin Dzeko who was the other option.
