Inter CEO Beppe Marotta feels that the recent rumours of a sale of Inter by Suning are the same same speculation that has been going around for two years, and that it isn’t his place to comment on them and that the owners are committed and support the club.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN before the team’s Serie A clash with Torino this evening, the CEO weighed in on the recent reports of an impending sale, and also on the moment of form that the Nerazzurri find themselves in.
As Marotta points out, Nerazzurri owners Suning have been reported to be potentially selling the club for some time now, but throughout this they have always remained the owners and indicated their continued commitment.
The CEO emphasized that it is not really his place to comment on rumours circulating about the ownership, and that ultimately it will be Suning’s decision to either keep control or sell the club, and he will respect it.
“These reports have been circulating for two years now,” he said. “I can only say that the Zhang family loves Inter and has respect for the fans, they know what they have to do to guarantee the present and the future.”
“The technical side of things for which I am responsible must be exempt from these considerations because everything is always guaranteed in the best way possible. Today we expect the response from the team, but certainly not from the owners.”
“These are matters beyond my scope,” he went on, “I don’t care to comment on the strategies of the owners. I can says that the future is guaranteed and that the Zhang family would never fail in this kind of commitment.”
Of what’s expected by the team on the pitch, Marotta said that “It has to be stronger than the recent performances. In this sense we’re calm, we’ve faced the problems and today we have to make the club, the fans, and ourselves satisfied.”
