Inter forward Joaquin Correa has admitted that he’ll be coming up against a personal friend in the form of national teammate and Udinese midfielder Roberto Pereyra, but that this is far from his mind this afternoon.
Speaking to InterTV ahead of today’s Serie A clash with the Bianconeri, the Argentine stressed that he and his teammates are only thinking about the three points as they head into their final fixture before the international break begins.
Inter have the chance to pick up three important points to head into the break on the right note, but it won’t be easy against an Udinese team who have won their past four matches in Serie A, including a 4-0 demolition job on Roma.
Among the many outstanding players for the Friulians during the period has been former Juventus and Watford midfielder Pereyra, who plays for the Argentine national team along with Correa, and the Inter man makes no secret of the fact that off the pitch they enjoy a great relationship.
“He’s a good friend of mine,” the 28-year-old said, “but today we’re opponents, so we’re not friends.”
“It will be a very important and very difficult match,” Correa added, “we’re ready and we’ve prepared well, we want the three points. We have to be on our game from the first minute to find a goal and bring home the win.”
