Next week’s tests in training will be crucial to seeing if Romelu Lukaku and Hakan Calhanoglu can play a part against AS Roma when club football returns, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport today, the two stars are doing all they can at Appiano Gentile to try and play a role when AS Roma comes to town on October 1.

The beginning of next week is when it should start to become clear if Romelu Lukaku will be fit enough to start the game against the Giallorossi or if he will have to settle for a place on the bench.

Hakan Calhanoglu came out of the gym to train on the pitch for the first time on Friday but his chances of starting the game against AS Roma are viewed as more remote than Romelu Lukaku’s at this current stage.
