Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic could be out with injury for both of the two Champions League group stage clashes with Barcelona next month.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 29-year-old is at risk of missing out for both matches against the Blaugranas as well as the Serie A clash with Sassuolo as he recovers from a thigh problem.

The exact scope of the thigh issue that Brozovic suffered during the first half of the Croatian national team’s Nations League clash with Austria yesterday is not known, but if it is a strain it could keep him out of action for a few weeks.

The 29-year-old was set to miss the Serie A clash with Roma after the break in any event, but he is now at risk of missing out on the two Champions League matches against Barcelona a week apart, as well as the clash with Sassuolo between them.
