Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is hoping to have midfielder Marcelo Brozovic back at his disposal as early as the team’s Champions League group stage clash with Viktoria Plzen at the end of October.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 29-year-old will be out with a thigh flexor problem for a few weeks but that if it is not serious then a return against the Czech side could be targeted.

Brozovic will certainly miss out on both of Inter’s Champions League matches against Barcelona, whilst there is no doubt that his thigh problem will be serious enough to cause him to miss a few Serie A matches in October.

However, further medical tests will reveal more about the timeline for the problem and how the thigh flexor responds to therapy, and if the timeline looks optimistic then Inzaghi could hope to have the Croat back for the clash with Plzen.
