Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic is working to be back fit to be on the bench when the team face Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 29-year-old is targeting a return to the bench against the German champions next month and then being ready to start against Juventus.

Brozovic has now missed a total of five matches for the Nerazzurri after picking up a thigh strain over the international break.

The team have hardly coped badly in the Croat’s absence, but he is still pushing to be back for some important matches on the horizon.

Brozovic will still be out for at least another two or three matches at the minimum.

However, a return to the bench against Bayern at the start of next month would be possible for the 29-year-old. Moreover, from there Brozovic will be targeting playing against Juventus in Serie A.
