Former Inter defender Daniele Adani feels that Inter are still far from their best, but that the returns of Romelu Lukaku and Marcelo Brozovic could be what is needed.
Speaking on Christian Vieri’s Twitch channel, as reported by FCInterNews, Adani highlighted how having the two key players is out is likely a factor in any struggles for form that the Nerazzurri have had.
Inter have looked to finally be shaking off their early season difficulties, having won three on the bounce in Serie A and taken four huge points off of Barcelona in the Champions League.
This does not mean, however, that everything is entirely back in place at the Nerazzurri.
The three goals conceded against Fiorentina over the weekend are a testament to a continued struggle to find defensive compactness on a consistent basis.
Meanwhile, the performance against La Viola was further evidence that Inter are not yet able to really control matches as they aim to, as the Tuscans frequently pressed the initiative.
“In terms of the positives, I’m starting to see last season’s Inter, who were the best team in Serie A in terms of the quality of their football,” Adani said.
“Right now they’re playing without Brozovic and without Lukaku, let’s not forget,” he continued, “these are two fundamental players.”
He continued that “There’s still a bit of balance that needs to be found, otherwise they can do a lot but then undo all their good work.”
