Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic is unlikely to be fit enough to be included in the squad for next Saturday’s Serie A clash with Sampdoria.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, who report that the 29-year-old will likely still be out with his thigh injury.

Brozovic is getting closer and closer to a full recovery and a return to the pitch after sustaining a thigh strain during the September international break.

The Croat should certainly be back on the pitch at some point before the World Cup break, and within the next few matches.

However, Brozovic will not be in the team for tomorrow evening’s Champions League match against Viktoria Plzen, and also is not expected to be fit to face Sampdoria over the weekend.

At the earliest, Brozovic could be back in the team for next week’s Champions League group stage clash with Bayern Munich.
