Inter striker Romelu Lukaku is hoping that he will be able to get on the pitch in this evening’s Champions League match against Viktoria Plzen.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 29-year-old is in the Nerazzurri’s squad and will be aiming to make an appearance from the bench.
Lukaku will finally be in a Nerazzurri matchday squad this evening, two months exactly after picking up a thigh strain which has ruled him out of action.
The Belgian cannot be expected to be at his best yet and is not deemed to be fit to start against Plzen.
However, Lukaku’s inclusion in the squad to face Plzen is not just meant for him to be a spectator from the bench.
The aim is to give the striker a chance to return to the pitch, and he is aiming to have a good run-out as a substitute so he can get back to full fitness and match-sharpness.
