Italian journalist Stefano De Grandis feels that Inter striker Lautaro Martinez is not quite at the level of a world-class player.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via L’Interista, De Grandis gave his thoughts on the level of the Nerazzurri striker.

Martinez has certainly established himself as a key player for Inter as well as for the Argentine national team/

The 25-year-old was the Nerazzurri’s top scorer last season, whilst this time around he is just behind Edin Dzeko over the first half of the campaign, in addition to the other qualities that he brings to the team.

This has led to some suggestions that the Argentine is now in the top tier of strikers, or just below the likes of players like Erling Haaland and Robert Lewandowski.

However, this view is by no means unanimous, and for De Grandis, Martinez has not yet reached this level.

“In Italy he’s considered to be a world-class player, but for me he’s a good player and nothing more,” the journalist said.
