Inter have offered defender Stefan de Vrij a two-year contract extension.

This according to Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, who report that the Nerazzurri are keen to extend the contract of the 30-year-old along with his defensive teammate Milan Skriniar.

Inter’s priority over the past weeks has been to progress negotiations with Skriniar on a contract extension, given that the Slovakian’s current deal is set to run out at the end of June 2023.

However, the 27-year-old is not the only defender whose current contract expires at the end of the season.

De Vrij also sees his contract run out next summer, and Inter do not want to lose him on a free transfer at that point.

Accordingly, the club are working to try and agree a new contract with the Dutchman.

According to TMW, the Nerazzurri have already offered de Vrij a new deal, for two seasons.

In the meantime, the 30-year-old is at the World Cup in Qatar with the Dutch national team, who have reached the round of sixteen of the tournament where they will face the US.
