Inter striker Romelu Lukaku departed the World Cup with the unwanted record of having squandered the most big chances of all players in the competition.

As reported by FCInterNews.it, the Belgium international incredibly wasted four clear scoring opportunities and failed to find the back of the net, despite only featuring for 54 minutes in the entire tournament in Qatar.

Lukaku went into the World Cup off the back back of an injury and was only fit for a late cameo in Belgium’s 2-0 defeat to Morocco, and an appearance in a 0-0 draw against Croatia, as the Red Devils were eliminated at the group stage.

The former Manchester United striker is joined on four key misses by Kylian Mbappe, but the France star has featured in every game in Les Bleus’ run to the semi-finals, and is currently the top scorer with five goals.

Elsewhere, England captain Harry Kane missed three clear chances, including a penalty against France yesterday, and is equal with Poland’s Robert Lewandowski, Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo, and Argentina and Inter striker Lautaro Martinez.
